We are 2 adults and 2 kids (12 and 10) although on the meal plan our 12 yo is considered an adult. One day week took the ferry over to Nassau and ate at the Fish Shack and there is actually a Burger King in Nassau near the Straw Market. So I wanted to give an honest review of Atlantis so you can decide if its worth it for your family. Were planning a June trip and want to go to Florida, the Keys, or Caribbean somewhere. I will give it that. Unsure of where to go on such short notice, we selected the Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas and this is my honest Atlantis Bahamas review. It ruined our taste for the Bahamas. The rooms in the main hotel of Baha Mar are laid out terribly!! It only includes breakfast and dinner, not even lunch. Staying at the Atlantis Bahamas was a huge disappointment for our family. We really considered this for a minute, but then I saw the private area and it was basically the same as every other area and just had small storage boxes in between each chair. So not worth it. If you are travelling with kids, I would suggest staying at The Royal. It includes numerous water slides, tube slides, river raft rides, lagoons and more. The vibe . This Bahamian resort boasts casinos, underwater shark walks, and frolicking dolphins. Atlantis is located on Paradise Island, a small island off of New Providence, and it has earned its name for a reason; guests will understand the name change from Hog Island back in 1961 as soon as they get their first glimpse of the turquoise water and white-sand beach. The best part of the room was our patio and its sweeping views of the ocean and resort. This was the worst trip for me and my family and the experience was even worse in person. The interior even houses a giant aquarium. Is the food plan ever offered as an incentive (like it is at Disneyworld)? What we actually spent: $2000 including alcohol and gratuity. But its the Bahamas the beaches are nice at every resort! Yes, to each their own, but you seem to have the same thoughts as I would about several things! It will really give you a feel for the entire resort. I can not understand how anyone would ever get bored. I just left Atlantis for a week long trio and I wasnt sure if i was being negative or ungrateful. So not worth it. We found out the economy is based off of tourism and employees get around 2.00 dollars an hour. That's where we come in! If you love waterparks this is the place to go. Even though you are staying in the hotel portion, you could still being some goodies in your luggage from home for breakfast or light lunches that don't require refrigeration, or just buy them at the small market across the street.
